I have been a State Farm Agent for the last fourteen years, but my journey to this role began much earlier. As a child, I wasn't like most kids; I loved to 'play office' at my grandfather's big desk, pretending to make calls, hold entire imaginary conversations, and write receipts. Sometimes I would even pretend to do accounting and write checks. Even then, my deepest desire was to help people, though it took me some time to discover the most effective way.

My formal education includes both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Georgia, and I spent the early part of my career working in the non-profit sector. Through this experience, I observed how many people with significant assets relied on risk advisors. This resonated with me, especially remembering my own father, who had the same State Farm agent for over 40 years, guiding him through countless different scenarios. That is the kind of relationship I want to have with my customers.

Building on my prior experience in a State Farm office, I knew this path would provide the training and resources to truly help anyone, regardless of their financial situation. It was here, along the way, that I earned the Retired Income Certified Professional designation, finally realizing a practical way to assist individuals while actively participating in the greater fabric of our community.

Paying it forward is essential to both my team and me. We strive to be trusted partners for our customers and our community. Our customers often tell us they appreciate the professionalism and knowledge of my team. I seek out kind, smart, and quick-thinking individuals like Rebekah, Michael, and Peyton, and working with them every day is truly a joy, both in and out of the office.

Beyond our agency, we are active community volunteers. In recent years, we have proudly supported projects for the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth, Skipwith Elementary School, the Junior League of Richmond, Feed More, Habitat for Humanity, and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Richmond Chapter.

Personally, I've had the honor of being a gubernatorial appointee four times, serving as chair of both the Virginia Fair Housing Board and the Legislative and Regulatory committee of the Virginia Board of Dentistry. For the prior three years, I chaired the State Farm Federal PAC for Virginia, and I currently serve as the president of my condo association board.
