I have been a State Farm Agent for 15 years, but my path started long before that. As a child, I loved “playing office” at my grandfather’s desk, pretending to make calls and write receipts. That early fascination with helping people eventually led me into the nonprofit sector, where I spent 12 years—mostly in fundraising—working closely with affluent donors and noticing how many relied on multiple people to help them manage their risks. That experience, combined with watching my own father work with the same State Farm agent for more than 40 years, shaped my belief in long-term, trusted relationships.

My education includes both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Georgia, and along the way I earned the Retirement Income Professional (RICP) designation. I chose State Farm because I value the mutual company structure and the commitment to providing agents with the training needed to work with customers across the economic spectrum. I also feel a deep moral responsibility to discuss Life insurance needs with every customer, because protecting families is one of the most meaningful parts of this work.

Our team is known for being professional, personable, and deeply committed to service. I’m grateful to work alongside kind and quick-thinking individuals like Rebekah, Michael, and Peyton—people our customers consistently praise for their knowledge and care. Community involvement is also central to who we are. Over the years, we’ve supported organizations such as the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth, Skipwith Elementary School, the Junior League of Richmond, Feed More, Habitat for Humanity, and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Richmond Chapter.

My own community leadership includes serving as president of the 5100 Condominium Association, as a member of the Women’s Council of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as a member of NAWBO. I’ve also been honored to receive four gubernatorial appointments, including service on the Virginia Board of Dentistry and several years as chair of the Virginia Fair Housing Board. These roles have strengthened my understanding of the issues that matter most to people across our region.

Outside the office, I’m married to the amazing Scott Green. We have a blended family with children in Richmond and Denver, and while our building is pet-free (other than service animals), we often say we’d have pets if we could. I’m an avid reader—especially history and biographies—and I love researching topics that catch my interest. Interior and garden design are passions of mine, and when I work out, I focus on a mix of cardio, resistance and weight training, and yoga.

Every experience—personal, professional, and community-based—shapes the way we show up for our customers. We’re here to help you feel more confident, more informed, and more prepared for the future. Give us a call or stop by to start a personalized conversation about your insurance needs.

A: Life insurance provides a payout to your beneficiaries if you pass away while the policy is active, helping offer financial protection. Connect with Myra for insurance guidance in Richmond.

Q: What protections does home insurance usually provide?

A: Homeowners insurance can help protect your home, your belongings, and your financial well-being. It may cover the structure of your home, your personal property, and provide liability protection, along with help for additional living expenses in certain situations. In Richmond, you can count on Myra for personalized service.

Q: What exactly is renters insurance and how does it work?

A: Renters insurance is coverage that helps protect your personal belongings and provides personal liability protection while renting a home or apartment. Myra is here to help your Richmond household feel covered.
